Praise for Carrie's Writing

"When reading about Carrie's next mom revelation, you end up reliving it yourself. It is quite the experience. There are tears, there is laughter... Next come the personal observations floating to the surface, and, of course, the necessary reevaluation of your own experiences with loved ones. And then, undeniably, there is the encouragement - the most delightful part, the icing on the cake, the reminder every tired, sleep-deprived, and overwhelmed mama needs to hear."

"Carrie's 'Growth Spurts' column, which ran in Parents & Kids Magazine for nearly a decade, could make you laugh and cry (sometimes at the same time) but always rang true and always had a bit of wisdom for our readers. She consistently provided parents with anecdotes from her family life, which ultimately led to beautiful, and sometimes difficult, lessons learned."

See this caddie? She is also my sister-in-law. Let See this caddie? She is also my sister-in-law. Let me tell you something about her. She works full time as an event planner in Nashville, and she ALSO works incredibly hard to support my brother as he works at golf. She hauls his clubs, keeps his schedule, handles logistics, keeps him hydrated and fed, listens to him, speaks to his heart and mind, knows when to give him space and when to draw closer. She is his calm and steady presence. She carries the load. And she embraces him with love no matter what happens to him on the course. She is proud of him. And I am so proud of her! We are so thankful for you, Kelsey Bevell! @kelsey.bevell @bevellgolf @profectusgolf
Golf is a physically challenging and mentally taxi Golf is a physically challenging and mentally taxing sport. And it’s an individual sport, which can probably make you feel kind-of lonely and on your own sometimes. Watching my brother compete in a few different tournaments over the last year has given me a better understanding of the discipline and grit it takes to compete at this high level. Joshua Bevell has had so many‼️incredible‼️ successes in his career—successes that thousands of people can only dream about, yet he has seen them… EARNED them. He has worked hard and has overcome setbacks and disappointments time and time again. When he has a bad day on the course, he answers it the next day by digging deep and continuing to climb. I am so proud of him, not just because of what he has accomplished in this tedious, brutal sport, but because of the man he is and the character he shows throughout the journey. It is a gift to know him, and I am proud to be his sister.

@bevellgolf @profectusgolf
Shamelessly bragging on my brother, Joshua Bevell! Shamelessly bragging on my brother, Joshua Bevell! Look at ALL that he has accomplished already in this sport! He works so hard and is a tough, determined competitor, and he does it with humility, integrity, and kindness. We are ready to cheer for him again as he competes in the PGA Professional Championship this week!

A Tale of Two Weddings… My husband and I have fi A Tale of Two Weddings…
My husband and I have five children – three sons and two daughters. And both of those daughters are getting married this summer! Pretty much any time we say that to someone, their eyes get big, and they say something to the effect of “I can’t imagine planning two weddings at the same time!” or “How are you going to do that?” or at least an elusive “Oh my gosh!” And although the lady at the bridal store made me laugh with her “God bless your pockets!” sentiment, I was growing a little weary of convincing people that this truly is a time of celebration for us.

I get it, though. I do. These are big occasions that require a lot of planning, time, money, and cooperation. I’m not saying that having two weddings within two months of each other is no big deal. It is! But our family is intentionally choosing to embrace celebration and not let stress rule this season for us. We are slowly and steadily working on all the plans. My list-making skills are coming in handy and helping me stay on track. We will get it all done, and BOTH weddings will be beautiful, special, and unique to each couple.

This isn’t the only time in our lives when we have intentionally chosen joy and gratitude over stress and worry. It has become a discipline for my husband and me. We are far from perfect in this discipline, but we do at least recognize that we have the ability to choose where we place our focus. We frequently remind each other that worrying over what-ifs is a fruitless endeavor and that time and time again throughout our lives, God has continued to provide just what we need, exactly when we need it. We try to live generously and open-handedly, believing that God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. And that includes our immediate family. God has blessed our daughters with men who love them well, and we want to bless them with the gift of celebration! Not just getting through it.
Another sweet time of celebrating the upcoming mar Another sweet time of celebrating the upcoming marriage of Callie and Hudson! We are so thankful for the love, support, and gifts 🥰 from family and friends. @calliepart @hudsonshotts

🌳 I had a couple of requests for my 50th birthd 🌳 I had a couple of requests for my 50th birthday, and this was one of them. For the past 20 years and previous two homes, we always had a pear tree in our front yard. And since, you know, we are Partridges, it became a fun thing for us. (Also, we just love trees and beautiful, growing things.) And so Kevin Partridge and I, while listening to Andrew Peterson’s song “Planting Trees,” planted a new pear tree in our front yard. It is significant and symbolic, just as my 50th birthday was to me, and we are looking forward to the deep roots and beautiful growth yet to come in this next season of our lives. @heykevinpartridge @andrewpetersonmusic
