Gratitude for Rest
Rest is a gift to us that God even modeled for us. Our bodies, minds, and spirits all need rest. Though ideally we would each take an entire day to rest each week, many of us have to find rest at different times throughout the week.
For some of us, rest looks like lounging in a hammock. For others, it looks like going for a hike. Rest can take on many forms, but the idea is to purposely use your time in a way that brings relaxation and restoration. It doesn’t necessarily mean a day of laziness, though that can be needed from time to time, but doing something that brings a sense of renewal to our bodies and minds.
On the days when I am feeling particularly weary, I am so grateful that God TELLS us to rest. It is such a gift.
How do you and your family rest? Have you thought about expressing gratitude for the gift of rest?
