Gratitude for Clean Water
My guess is that most or all who are reading this post do not have to consider whether or not they will have access to clean water today. Sure, we might have to deal with a Boil Water Notice from time to time, but even that is a minor inconvenience, at most. For more people in this world than we like to imagine, having access to clean water is a daily concern. But for us, this very basic necessity of life is one that we easily take for granted.
Letโs take steps to help ourselves and our families be mindful of the blessing we have and also raise our awareness of those who do not have access to clean water. For example, we can challenge our families to drink nothing except water for a week, as a discipline and a reminder of what we do have. When we take showers or baths, we can use that time to remember to both thank God for the clean water that we have and also pray for those who do not have it. We can also encourage our families to consider how we might be able to help those who do not have clean water. Whether itโs one bottle, an entire well, or something in between, there are practical ways that we can help people who need this life-giving source.
No matter what, letโs encourage our families today to take the time to consider and be thankful for the gift of easy and consistent access to clean water. And if youโd like to take action to help others have access to clean water, hereโs a great place to start: https://donate.worldvision.org/gift-catalog/clean-water…
